lyrics
Upon a golden trellis, the tree of life climbs
As I remain within its twisted roots
Entangling My corpse in suffocating martyrdom
A life I was eager to forsake
Wandering in garden of crucifix
Watching the cruxes fall into inversion
Such as all descend into perversion
An empty tarnished existence
The hours become bearers of grief
I was never asked to lead the kingdom of salvation
Yet it was borne unto Me as a thorny wreath
And so shall be this curse until I rid the world of its sin
Yet what penance can be given for acts one has not commit?
In taking up the sacred knife I take the life of God's only Son
A savior in committing divine suicide
I leave behind this corporeal burden
The price of flesh must be paid in full with the body of the divine
So that in decease we may regain paradise
From canopies, I descend where briars pierce My skin
Graciously spilling the blood of the Lamb
Staining flora to autumn shades
Heaven reels and the Dove doth descend
So My Father sayeth unto Me
"This is My Son in Whom I AM pleased"
I ascend the tree and watch the husks shatter before Me
Racing through unholy timber
In journeys through the afterlife
I find the reasons for mankind's sin
The trees of life and death in bloom
Flourishing branches and roots extending forever
As above so below
Illuminate the transfiguration to raze the field of phantasm
And sever the outstretched hand
Thus, falling into sleep where salvation is found
Unshackling the unholy Qliphoth
Dragged to lowland tied to this Triune fate
The 9th circle of hell, where Satan himself resides
To many a man's bewilderment is not a plane of hellish fire
But an eternal lake of ice, where Lucifer sits waist high
Thrashing his tattered wings, sending icy winds of searing pain
Across the barren landscape where forever sinners lie
The likes of Judas, Brutus and Cassius,
Faces frozen in horror staring blankly at the void
No distraction from their iniquity
Only cold, harsh pain
In retaliation for what they have done
And their tragic misdeeds upon the concept of life
Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
What a BEAST of an album. When it comes to blending black metal and mathcore, these guys and Hoplites are the clear leaders of the pack. This album is sheer annihilation of everything in it's path. Pure chaos and destruction. And it is beautiful. Ryan
